Help
Quick reference for your daily operating system.
The Daily Loop
Morning — Ground + Plan
Body gate (sleep, workout, meditation) → Plan your day (frog, MITs, admin, action plan) → Lock it in. The plan becomes your cockpit.
Execute — Follow the Sequence
Cockpit shows ONE task at a time. Frog first, then MITs, then client work, then sales, then building. Building is last, always.
Track — Log as you go
Sessions (linked to tasks), meals, notes, practices, and ledger entries via quick actions or Twin chat.
Evening — What did you ship?
Review actions completed, what got blocked, one thing to change tomorrow. Set tomorrow’s frog. Plan tomorrow or skip.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Single-key shortcuts work on the cockpit when not typing in a text field. Click outside the chat first.
Your Twin, Organized
Chat Power Features
Mentions — Inject knowledge into any chat
Type @ in any chat to pull entities (people, companies, projects, deals) directly from your knowledge graph. The Twin gets the latest stored notes about that entity injected into the message before it generates a reply — no tool call, no retrieval round-trip, no guessing. You decide what context matters.
YOU TYPE
whats the latest with @DG Matrix
TWIN ACTUALLY RECEIVES
whats the latest with @DG Matrix
---
[Entity: DG Matrix (company)]
Notes: Met with Thomas about Q2 partnership pricing...
Phil flagged the contract needs to be re-signed by Apr 15
They want to move from net-30 to net-60How to use: Type @, then a few characters of the entity name. A picker appears. ↑ ↓ to navigate, Enter to pick, Esc to dismiss. You can mention multiple entities in one message — each one gets its own context block appended.
Why it’s different: Most chat apps either give you nothing, or auto-retrieve everything blindly. Mentions are surgical — you control which knowledge enters the conversation, and the Twin sees it as part of your message rather than as something it had to go fetch.
Markdown shortcuts in the chat input
The chat input is a rich editor — type markdown shortcuts and they convert to formatted blocks as you type. No syntax to remember once you know the patterns.
- → Bullet list1. → Numbered list# → Heading 1## → Heading 2### → Heading 3> → Blockquote**bold**→ Bold*italic*→ Italic`code`→ Inline code```→ Code block---→ Horizontal ruleEnter sends the message. Shift+Enter inserts a line break.
Long pastes become attachments
Pasting more than ~1,500 characters of text automatically condenses into a “Pasted text” chip above the input — same behavior as Claude.ai. Click the chip to preview the full content. Keeps the input usable when you’re dropping in docs, logs, or transcripts.
Persona switcher
The persona button at the bottom of the chat input changes how the Twin responds: coach (action-first), reflect (slower, deeper), plan (structured planning), create (brainstorm/draft), standard (neutral). Your pick is sticky — it stays until you change it manually, even across sessions and reloads.
Finance Guide
Bills Tab — Monthly Planner
See all bills for a given month grouped by type. Each bill shows due day, status (Paid/Upcoming/Past Due/Skipped/Deferred), who pays, and amount. Mark as Paid, Skip, Defer, or ‘Someone Else Paid → Add as Debt’ via the 3-dot menu.
Bills Tab — Cash Flow Timeline
See the next 30/60/90/180 days of bills chronologically with a running balance. Green = healthy, amber = below threshold (default $1,000, configurable in settings), red = below $0. Quick-update balance from the header.
Income — Expected vs Received
One-time income (like DEO): create with Expected status and an expected date. When money arrives, click ‘Mark Received’ and pick the actual date. If the expected date passes without marking received, it shows as Overdue.
Income — Recurring
Active = currently paying you. Prospect = in talks. Paused = temporarily stopped.
Income — Contract/Milestone
Total contract value + hourly rate. Track individual milestone payments against the total.
Bill Frequency
Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, Biweekly, Weekly, or One-time. Set when creating a bill or in the bill detail modal.
Reminders
Each bill has a ‘Remind me’ setting: day of, 1/2/3/5/7/14 days before. Generates a notification that surfaces in the cockpit and morning standup.
Key Concepts
Action-First Philosophy
The Twin biases every interaction toward 'What are you doing next?' Emotions are acknowledged in one sentence, then redirected to the next concrete action. Thoughts are inputs, not destinations.
The Sequence
Priority hierarchy. Level 0: Foundation + Frog + MITs. Level 1: Client obligations. Level 2: Sales & revenue. Level 3: Building. Level 4: Admin. Always work top-down — building is the reward, not the default.
The Frog
Your most AVOIDED task — not most important. Usually admin, finance, or uncomfortable work. Eat it first, before it eats your day.
MITs
Most Important Tasks. Three per day. Each is automatically a task in the system — trackable, linkable to sessions, connected to boulders and bets.
Boulders
Weekly priorities (up to 3). Each has an hour target. Linked to quarterly bets. Sessions linked to tasks roll up hours to boulders automatically.
Pitches
Shape Up methodology. Problem → Appetite → Solution → Scope → Risks → Definition of Done. Pitches can link to documents and bets.
Foundation
Daily practices: meditation, workout, gratitude, vitamins, financial ledger, meeting tracker, accountability check-in. Streaks tracked.
Deals
CRM pipeline items. Each deal has a stage, channel, value, probability, contacts, and the hero field: Next Action. No deal goes dark — 14 days without contact triggers a warning.
Reminders
Notifications from bills, tasks, and follow-ups. Each can be: Create Task (converts to actionable work), Mark Done, or Dismiss. Reminders older than 7 days auto-escalate.
Session → Task Linking
When logging a work session, link it to a task. Hours roll up: Session → Task → Boulder → Bet. Answer 'how much time did I spend on this?'
Recurring Tasks
Set any task to repeat: daily, weekly (pick day), or monthly (pick day). Auto-generated on each new day.
Income Types
Recurring (hourly/retainer clients), One-time (expected amount + date, mark received when it arrives), Contract/Milestone (total value, track payments against it).
Progressive Overload
Targets increase weekly based on performance. Never lowered. If missed, the bar holds. 'Make Tuesday the floor, not the ceiling.'
Tips
- •Auto-save is on everywhere — type and it saves. Look for the ✓ Saved indicator.
- •The Twin is action-first. It will acknowledge emotions in one sentence, then redirect to the next concrete action.
- •⌘/ opens the command palette — search across tasks, entities, documents, and events from anywhere.
- •Keyboard shortcuts only work on the cockpit when you’re NOT focused in the chat textarea. Click outside the chat first.
- •When logging a work session, link it to a task — hours automatically roll up to boulders and quarterly bets.
- •Every MIT the Twin creates is automatically a task in the system with a task ID.
- •The CRM pipeline tracks deals with the ‘No deal goes dark’ rule — 14 days without contact triggers a stale warning.
- •The Backlog supports screenshot uploads. Use ⌘/ → Bug tab to quickly capture bugs with images from any page.
- •Data export is in Settings — export all data as JSON, or tasks/sessions/finance as CSV.
- •The Twin sees your CRM pipeline, financial situation, reminders, and daily progress. It coaches in context.
